Handicap Meetings

Baby Show

This is an activity we have had since we were running the TBA's Training.  We ahve had Baby Show in all the blocks, and in many of the villages. These days we do one baby show every month, and also in Mursan, Karhari and Beswan Clinics, two in the year.

Baby Show is not a really Show, but it is a meeting where parents is told to take the children, and we check the weight, lenght, whether the baby can walk according to the age etc. etc.  But the most important is to see if the child have got the vaccine according to the age, and at right time.

The children must therefore bring the vaccination card, so we can see this, and the children The three best will get a price.  However, all the children will get a towell and a soap.  To these meetings childre as well as grand parents will come.  This is popular program, and mostly we also have a drama etc It will be from 60 to more than 100 children taking part in this baby show.  

Handicap-meetings

This is also a program we have continues with from the time we had the TBA's Training.  This is a very costly program, so it is nothing we can have very frequently, but one or two in a year we always try to have, However, last year, during 2007 we did not have any handicap meeting due to less funds.

These meetings are held in different blocks, and we try to call together 150-200 in each meeting.  We will give about 25 or more Tri Cycles, and these cycles are given to polio patients, or people suffering from anything thathave made them unable to walk.

Many of the people who get one of these cycles will be able to earn some money, and be able to take care of their family, by either selling vegetables etc.

Youth Club and Womens club

Youth Club and Womens Club is also an activity we have continues with from the time we had the TBA's Training.  We have till now 154 Youth clubs and 151 Womens Clubs.  We can have only one youth club and women blub in each village.  It is very important toi note that if there have been formed these clubs in a village, and as this is a program the Indian Government want, and support, so if this village does not have school, proper road or even light, the government will have to give these things to this village.

A other thing which is very important is that these youth will go together with the leaders in the village, so if something happens, like some fighting etc., the youth and the leaders will, insted of going calling the police, try to solve this problem them selves.

They also look after the cleanliness etc. in the village, so these clubs are very important and strong.
