The Sunday School

The Sunday School in Mursan is not a big one, but about 12 - 15 children attending every Sunday, not bad.  The children belongs to staff members, as well as  to people living around here.  

The leaders for the Sunday School is Mrs. Lissy Abraham and Mrs. Pushpa Sinha.  They are doing a good job, and children take part in many programs etc.

Christmas in Mursan

The Christmas in Mursan is a very popular and all the members of the church as well as many of the staff members also take part in this program.

The celebration, or the preparation for it starts very early, lets say at least 2 weeks before Christmas.  We start with carolsinging in the morning, normally sitting in the TV Room, this starts in the beginning of December.  Then a week later we start with carolsinging, in the evening, visiting all the homes, first of all the members of the church, but also other wants to take part.

One Sunday we have a choir coming here, and we have the Sunday Service in the evening, and this is a day with Christmas songs only.  We end the evening with a dinner to all.

The real Christmas startes on December 24., at 14.00 Hrs, then it is Christmas Tree, a big gathering by all the staff.  This is held outside the Day Care Center, in a tent.  There might be  about 130 people present.  During this gathering is singing, a small speach, and often the staff want to sing or say something.  We have something nice to eat also.

In the evening, at 10.00 Hrs it is Camp fire, and ending the day in the church.

Next day it is Christmas Day, the real Christmas here in India.  We start at 11.00 in the Church, and ahve afterwards a playing and nice day outside, which we end with a lunch for all.

Sometimes we have some other gathering during between Christmas and New year also, and New year are also celebrated, New year eve and New year day, same as Christmas.

Easter in Mursan

Easter in Mursan is a nice and well liked celebration.  We start early,  1-2 weeks before Palm Sunday, with Carol Singing in the homes.  We end the Saturday before Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is  a nice day.  We meet on the Clinic Compound, and everybody get a palm in the hand, and we walk to the church.  There we decorate with the palms,a nd have a good day in the church.

From Monday to Wednesday we have prayer in the church both in the morning with the staff, and in the evening.  Thusrday is Holy Communion in the church, and Good Friday  is a Service from 1200 to 15.00, with Jesu 7 words on the cross.

Easter morning is started at 04.00 Hrs. on the clinic Compound, all get a light and we walk to the church, where we have a gathering on the church roof.  We have a prayer, a small speach, often drama with the children, and we end it with tea, buns and eggs.  At 11.00 Hrs we have Easter Service in the church, and afterwards  play with the children, and lunch for all.

All the three clinics start the days with a prayer, held by one of the evangelists on the place.  You can see several places on this web site who the evangelists are, first of all on the "our Church etc."

Ther prayer is not a long one, normally a song, reading from the Bible and a prayer.  It is good for us to start the day like that, and since it has been like this all the years it has been a Health center here, we prefer to keep it like this.  Also on all the Hospitals the chuch have, they start the day with a prayer.
